AB “NVBS”: April 12 - Cosmonautics Day and interesting facts about the first flight
On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin made the first flight into space in the history of mankind on the Vostok-1 spacecraft. In honor of this event, NVBS shares the key facts of this event:
- The duration of the flight was 108 minutes, during which the ship made one revolution around the Earth;
- Before the launch, Gagarin uttered the legendary “Let's go!”, which became a symbol of the breakthrough into the space age;
- The landing took place in the Saratov region, and the call sign “Kedr” went down in history forever;
- Engineers even took into account everyday details: food for the cosmonaut was in tubes, and special coded equipment was used for communication.
The first space flight is not only a triumph of science, but also an example of well-coordinated work of engineers, designers and IT-specialists. Today, as 63 years ago, the success of large-scale projects depends on the accuracy of calculations, reliability of technologies and team synergy. Implementing IT, infrastructure and security solutions, NVBS JSC follows these principles, providing customers with a level of quality comparable to space standards.
